Come and meet us and find out about how we can make your big day unforgettable…
One of the best things about being in the wedding business at Christmas time is seeing all the new ‘trends’ that “those in the know” think will be popular for the coming year!
Having waded through piles of wedding magazines (it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!) here’s the round up of top trends for 2016!
INDIVIDUALITY – having followed wedding styles for years, brides & grooms will be pleased to know that offering a fun experience for their guests in their own individual style is the top tip for this year….
METALLICS – whether it’s glitzy golds or shimmering silvers, get them on your wedding tables!

DREAMY ROMANTIC – and to go with those marvellous metallics, to create that romantic intimate environment turn your attention to lighting, it’s going to be very important in 2016!
REMINDERS OF HOME – more and more elements of places and people that hold special memories for the couple, their family and friends will feature at the reception, making your event truly personal and individual….there are some lovely ideas of photo hanging, we love this one!

And much to our relief, it would seem that rustic is till in, those barns, boho chic styling and vintage elements will still feature strongly this season!

Morris the vintage VW wedding campervan and the Pear Tree Team had such a great time at the Milton Keynes Wedding Show last weekend!
Clearly Morris was very popular, but so too were the little Keepsake Bears that we took along, we have Morris Bear, Basil Bear and Bernie Bear….and no surprise to hear they each live in their own VW wedding camper van. The fabulous keepsake bears are the creation of Vikki at Blossom and Badger! For years Vikki has hand created keepsake bears out of children’s clothing (the sorts of clothes you can’t bear to throw away and end up storing in a box in the loft!!) but has now started to make the lovable bears out of wedding fabrics, including veils as a keepsake for your wedding day. Each bear is lovingly handmade, with your wedding date embroidered on your bear’s foot!
We love our bears, and they attracted so much attention at the Milton Keynes Wedding Show it was clear that you all loved them too!
For more details and to have a look at the monkeys, elephant, and lion designs too, pop over to www.blossomandbadger.co.uk prices start form £55.
Well, we don’t really attend wedding fayres, we’ve pioneered the way in the VW wedding world by creating viewing days when brides and grooms can come & meet our entire fleet….however, this Autumn we will be attending the Milton Keynes Wedding Show!
The Wedding Show will be held in Middleton Hall (out the front of John Lewis) in the Milton Keynes Shopping Centre – and will be held over Friday 25th (9.30am – 8pm), Saturday 26th (9am – 6pm) and Sunday 27th September (11am-5pm). On the Saturday and Sunday there will be catwalk shows at 12noon, 2pm and 4pm.
The event will be a fabulous show case for some of the region’s top wedding suppliers, offering a complete solution to wedding planning – with photographers, cake bakers, florists, stationery designers, bridal gowns, venues, menswear, wedding extra’s (candy carts and chocolate fountains….hmmm, yummo!) and of course wedding car suppliers will be there too!
We will be taking the rather stunning Morris to the fayre – do come along to have a look, ask questions or receive a quote for a VW wedding!
German Dustin Brown shocked tennis fans worldwide last night as he beat previous Champion Rafael Nadal. Ranked 102 in the world Brown put on a stunning display of strength, determination & skill as he wowed Wimbledon. Having his childhood in Jamaica, he moved back to Europe over 10 years ago and set his mind to breaking into the tennis scene professionally. Dustin’s parents bought him a VW campervan so that he could travel around Europe, stay at events and minimise his travel and hotel costs.
Dustin admitted a few years ago to journalists that money had been tight in those early days and the campervan enabled him “to have enough money to play the next tournament. That pretty much saved my career. ”
Every VW camper van owner would probably agree with Dustin when he went on to say “It was a bit of an adventure!”
Well, as if completing hundreds of weddings a year isn’t exciting enough – last week we were involved in two television productions!
Firstly Plum Productions the company behind Shed of the Year for Channel 4 came out to film our VW shed, and then Morris and Daphne attended a wedding on Friday that was filmed for ITV’s Lorriane Kelly show!
We are off for more filming with Channel 4 next week & then the production company will edit the footage for this summer’s Amazing Spaces series with George Clarke….we’ll be sure to let you know when the programs are due to be aired.
